Summer's end
Hi there future Midland Juniors! I am just testing out this site as a potential blog site for our class. I read this post about classroom blogs, in which the author reviews six different blogging options for teachers intersted in having a classroom blog. Only two of the options were free: Wordpress and Blogger. Since Wordpress is a little more technical and had more options to wade through (I tried using it years ago) I decided to go with Blogger, which I have used before. Some of the classroom blogs I would have to pay for give students the opportunity to post privately, record audio, and have closed groups. Speaking of which, I am going to check out the privacy settings for blogger.com

This is a test comment. What if all students had to do for homework was write a comment on this blog? Can I see their comments before they are actually posted? Students should be required to post using their @midland-school.org email address. They should also use correct capitalization and punctuation. Hopefully the fact that this is a blog that anyone can see will help motivate them to do that.
ReplyDeleteThen students can also respond to comments, starting separate threads, which will allow students to respond to each other, going in to depth on specific topics.
